Tepco announced they investigated the inside of reactor2 by using a remote controlling robot called Quince 2 on 2/27/2012. It measured 127~220 mSv/h near the container vessel in the operation room of the fifth floor. Tepco states it’s impossible to work in this level of radiation. It found pool on the floor, Tepco says that is because they can’t change air, steam makes pool. The steam is assumed to be from container vessel, very radioactive. Tepco explains it was 11~30 mSv in the stairways from the first floor to forth floor.
Tepco has been purifying contaminated water of the plant coolant system. However, Tepco announced they will introduce a new purifying system for strontium after September, which means they only filtered out cesium. With this new system, they are supposed to decrease strontium 1 in 10 million. The current strontium amount in the contaminated water is no announced.

They used 10m of endoscope last month, but they couldn’t see the water level because it was lower than they estimated. They will use 18m of endoscope for the next time. They are going to use the same hole as last time. They are also planning to measure the radiation level next time.

Fukushima prefecture monitored radiation level around Fukushima plants. On 2/7/2012, they released the monitoring data after 311. The data was taken in Ohno Ohkuma machi. The facility is Nal scintillation spectrometer detector. The graphs below are the spectral data. Reactor 3 had nuclear explosion at 11:01 3/14/2011. The bottom 2 graphs are the ones of 22:30 3/14/2011 and 10:30 3/15/2011. The reactor 2 and 4 exploded at 6:00 3/15/2011. Those 2 graphs are showing the saturation of low level of energy in the spectral data. It is impossible even to detect the nuclides.
Japan thyroid association has Yamashita Shunichi as their chairman. Having the explosions of nuclear plants, thyroid disease is assumed to increase. Japan thyroid association is expected to play an objective role to collect and analyze the data. However, it turned out that Yamashita Shunichi was elected to be the chairman on 11/23/2011. According to Dr. Yamashita Shunichi, you won’t be affected by radiation if you are smiling. He tested it with animals.
